In Loving Memory of Aaron Stokes (1979–2026): A Visionary, Mentor, and Devoted Family Man

The Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Aaron Stokes, founder of Shop Fix Academy, EuroFix, and AmeriFix, who passed away early Friday morning following a plane crash near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He was 47 years old.

Aaron Stokes was widely recognized throughout the automotive aftermarket industry as a passionate advocate for independent shop owners. In 2016, he founded Shop Fix Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee, with a mission to help repair shop owners strengthen both their businesses and their families. His guiding principle — “fix the owner, fix the shop” — resonated deeply within the automotive service community and helped shape a new generation of shop leadership.

What began as a bold vision grew into a national network of more than 1,500 independent auto repair shop owners. Through leadership development, operational systems, accountability programs, and one-on-one coaching, Shop Fix Academy supported business growth while emphasizing balance, responsibility, and personal integrity.

The loss is deeply felt across the broader automotive industry. Aaron Stokes’ influence extended beyond financial performance metrics — he encouraged business owners to pursue excellence while prioritizing family, community, and personal growth.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stokes family and all those affected during this difficult time.
