Growing Shops Launches New Resource Initiative for Independent Automotive Repair Shops

Melissa “Birdie” Patterson, automotive industry veteran and founder of Bird’s iSocial, has announced the launch of Growing Shops, a new education and resource initiative designed to help independent repair shop owners strengthen the business behind the bays.

The idea grew from a challenge Patterson repeatedly saw throughout her 30 years in the automotive industry: valuable knowledge and resources exist across the industry, but busy shop owners often do not have the time to find them, sort through them, and determine what applies to their business.

“There is an incredible amount of knowledge in this industry, but many shop owners simply don’t have the time to go looking for it,” Patterson said. “Growing Shops is being built to make that next step faster and easier: identify what you need, connect with a useful resource, and take action.”

Growing Shops will focus on leadership, culture, marketing, systems, owner development, and building businesses that can thrive beyond the owner. Practical tools, educational resources, training, webinars, workshops, and industry collaborations will continue to be developed as the platform grows.

Patterson has worked in the automotive industry since 1996 and today serves as an Automotive Shop Strategist, marketer, trainer, and founder of Bird’s iSocial.
