Amazing Women in Automotive (AWiA) will be participating in the upcoming SkillsUSA California State Leadership and Skills Conference, taking place April 9–12 in Ontario, California.
As one of the state’s largest workforce development events, SkillsUSA brings together thousands of career and technical education students competing in skilled trades, including automotive technology.
AWiA will be on-site to connect with students, instructors, and families, with a focus on supporting young women exploring careers in the automotive industry. Through an on-site booth and speaking engagement, the organization will share insights into the wide range of career opportunities available across the automotive aftermarket, including technical, operational, and leadership roles.
Melissa “Birdie” Patterson, board member of Amazing Women in Automotive, will be participating in the event, continuing AWiA’s efforts to recruit, retain, and mentor women across the industry.
This initiative reflects a broader commitment to strengthening the technician pipeline and building long-term career pathways for the next generation of automotive professionals.
