An icon in the automotive aftermarket industry, Maylan dedicated over 40 years to training and mentoring thousands of professionals, leaving an indelible mark on the field. As President and CEO of ESI, he was a mainstay at the ATRA Powertrain Expo for more than 25 years, where his management classes inspired and empowered countless attendees.
While Maylan was a gifted speaker who loved presenting to audiences worldwide, it was his rare ability to listen with empathy and understanding that truly defined him. His passion for helping others succeed was evident in everything he did, and his influence will continue to be felt for years to come. In 2022, he was honored with the ATRA Lifetime Achievement Award—just one testament to the profound impact he had on our industry. He was slated to speak again at this year’s expo, a role he embraced wholeheartedly, as he always had.
