12,000 horsepower, nitro burning machines take tools that can go the distance.

Snap-on Tools are used around the world in critical environments. One of those places is at the drag strip where Snap-on has sponsored NHRA Funny Car driver Cruz Pedregon for more than two decades. The sport is carried by FOX Sports for the 20+ race season. The high-speed action takes place on the quarter-mile strip and in the pits where highly trained and practiced crews of technicians assemble and disassemble cars in less time than it takes to have the oil changed in your personal vehicle. From removing the blower and intake manifold, to disassembling the engine down to the block, crank, and camshaft, these pros need tools that can help get a 12,000 HP Funny Car from the starting line to the finish in less than four seconds.

Check out the photo for some of the most used tools that Cruz’s crew count on at the track and in the shop. Pictured in the photo are: Ed Tyler – Blower and Car Chief – SHL80A 1/2″ Drive Dual 80® Technology Soft Grip Long Handle Ratchet; Tim Simmons – Short Blocks – QD3R250A 1/2″ Drive SAE Adjustable Click-Type Fixed Ratchet Torque Wrench; Davey Garcia – Clutch – Right Hand: PT850 1/2″ Drive Air Impact Wrench, Left Hand: MG325 3/8″ Drive Air Impact Wrench, On Table – right CTR767 14.4 V 3/8″ Drive MicroLithium Cordless Long-Neck Ratchet; and Seth Santee – Clutch Assistant – MG325 3/8″ Drive Air Impact Wrench.
