Dillon Griffin A+1 Transmission Specialists Graduate Of Napa Apprenticeship Program And A ASE Certified Technician

Dillon Griffin born in Kerrville, Texas and raised in San Antonio, Texas.  A graduate of John Jay High School of San Antonio, Texas.  His original goal in life was to get a BA in Agriculture at the University of Tennessee in Martin, Tennessee.  But life can throw you some curves and it was difficult to find a job.  Then he met Ed and Mary Doyle who gave him the opportunity to prove himself. He has always had an interest in automotive, growing up around construction equipment. He took two years of Mechanics, one year Auto Body in high school and built up his first vehicle a 1985 GMC 1500 Sierra Classic long bed pick up. Dillon originally wanted to go to St. Phillips College in San Antonio for automotive but was talked out of going to pursue college instead. It is ironic that he wound up where he originally started.  He completed the two-year NAPA Apprenticeship Program in conjunction with the United States Department of Labor through A+1 Transmission Specialists in Kerrville, Tx.

This Apprentice Program provided Dillon with a start up set of tools, a personal Mentor and allowed him to achieve ASE Certifications in multiple areas of automotive technology.  With these tools as a steppingstone, he can now progress and become an ASE Master Technician.

Dillon shared with Ed & Mary:

“That thru foresight he has learned, don’t let people discourage you from wanting to be in the trades Just because naysayers think it sounds hard and tough doesn’t mean that you are not capable of being hard and tough enough to excel and enjoy your new SELF CHOSEN career, and I am now looking forward to continuing my education and become an ASE Master Technician.”

Dillon has attended three different ATRA functions, Grand Opening, Seminar and EXPO in the past year.  Dillon has attended multiple training classes with the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association and the NAPA training courses.  He is looking forward to his continued education with ATRA and NAPA as he progresses in his career.
